Monitor the contractor’s performance of the volume of mechanical and piping installation works in compliance with the requirements for the quality of work performed, materials and tools used. Monitor the use of approved design documentation and drawings, as well as the application of relevant building standards, norms and technical specifications, as well as safety rules. Monitor mechanical and piping installation works carried out on site. Carry out quality control in the workshop of suppliers / contractors and on the construction site. Promtly enter the results of inspections and (or) observations into a special Mechanical Completion System. Monitor the complience of certificates for materials with the norms and specifications of the project. During the inspection of supervision, check for the presence of counterfeit materials, and if they are detected, immediately inform Line Manager. Monitor the avaiability of contractors, relevant and currently valid norms, standards, technical specifications, as weel as the application of relevant building standards, norms, technical specifications and drawings. Be present /take partin the receiption of equipment on the constrcution ite or in the contractor’s premises to identify potential damage, shortages and surpluses. Monitor the shortage of mechanical /piping materials in accordance with the supplier’s recommendation and approve design procedures for the storage of materials, if necessary. Coordinate the work of suppliers /contractors by attending inspections /tests or by checking documentation. Make a schedule for monitoring the progress of work and quality control. In accordance with the approved plan of inspections and tests, carry out daily monitoring and verification of mechanical and piping installation works performed in production workshops and on construction site.

Seach for documentation: SLD, P&ID, Layout, Equipment list, Detail drawings. Visit site to determin and clarify the Punch Lists, check an access and constraints. Provide technical information in order to support the PTW (permit to work) process; collaborate with the Issuing Authority and Person Responsible for the Area in order to safely and efficiently advance the works. Monitor work progress and key milestones of the Contractor’s and Maintenance workforce activities in the field of electrical & instrumentation engineering to ensure that documentation, equipment, materials and labor resources are in place to enable pertinent project schedule milestones to be achieved. Ensure accurate and timely forecasting of activities. Liaise with Supervisors, other Discipline Engineers, Foremen, Quality Control and Specialist Engineers to provide an optimum interface between the various operational activities. Coordinate closely with other functional groups in the team to provide construction support for construction activities, and to ensure timely feedback to continuously improve efficiency and performance for all phases of the work. Ensure that all relevant final project documentation in the specific discipline area is handed over to Company in a timely and orderly fashion meeting, project and contractual requirements. Meet safety, environmental, and ethical standards in all phases of project execution. Supervise mechanical completion and pre-commissioning activities and collaborate with vendors, providing the necessary technical expertise, participate in walk downs and provide input and clarity to the punch lists. Participate in the hand over process to Operations, pro-actively expediting punch list closure by the Contractor / Maintenance. Stand-in and temporarily assume the roles and responsibilities of the Construction Supervisor on occasions as directed by Management (during rotational changes, holidays, sickness, etc of the Supervisor). Intervene and stop the job (Construction jobs or otherwise) if unsafe acts are being committed. Assist the Contractor in resolving technical problems at site by clearly defining the problem and formulating practicable solutions for approval and implementation through the Technical Query process.

Ensure that all piping construction contractors’ supervision and manpower are instructed in and comply with all aspects of Health, Safety, Environment and Security policy, site regulations, permit to work procedures and instructions and Client requirements; Ensure that piping construction contractors working within the discipline adhere strictly to the latest Approved for Construction project drawings, Specifications, ITPs, Procedures and Site Instructions; Responsible fir the HES, and quality aspects of the works within assigned areas and for ensuring construction contractors complete their work in accordance with the project schedule; Review and monitor the availability of drawings, specifications and etc; In conjunction with the contractors’ supervision, planning engineers and the construction engineer, develop detailed daily and weekly work plans in accordance with the overall planning schedule;

Direct management of Mechanical Subcontractor(s) for piping; Ensure that their performances are carefully monitored in terms of schedule, quality and cost, and PIS will coordinate all necessary recovery actions whenever detect deviation from schedule or specifications under the guidance of Mechanical Piping Superintendent; Participate in the elaboration of work schedule and to the collection of the progress of the works and analyse any deviations; Punch listing pipework systems prior to hydro tests; Ensures the implementation of all the HSE procedures and standards for the areas or activities (subcontractors) of responsibilities; Directly participates to the HSE activities at the site as defined for PIS position in the Site HSE plan and related procedures.

Create Work Packages is the process of actually carrying out the subdivision of project deliverables and the scope of work in line with the WBS, thus creating the Work Packages. Prepare method statement for mechanical and piping scope of work. Prepare job cards. Check project drawings and make red-line murk up drawings. Maintain an overview of current work pack status in the associated WMS systems and provide progress updates to the integrated planning engineer.
